Affiliated to first Patna University in 1949 for Intermediate. On establishment of Bihar University, the college had been affiliated to this university in 1953 onwards for Intermediate (Arts and Science) as well as for Bachelor (Arts and Science) courses. Further, on establishment of L.N. Mithila University, the college had been affiliated to this university in 1972 onwards for Intermediate, Bachelor and Master courses.
The College became a Constituent unit of L.N. Mithila University in 1976. The College is recognized by UGC under its section 2(f) & 12(B) in November 1976.
