Establishment : 1947
Established by provision of 15 acres of land and the collective financial help of the great visionary villagers of Samastipur Subdivision especially Late Thakur Prasad Sharma, Ram Charitra Singh, Sri Balram Singh, the then SDO, late Atma Ram Mishra, late Deewan Bahadur Kameshwar Narayan Singh, Late Raghunandan Prasad Singh, Late Govardhan Bhai Patel and many others who collectively named the college as Samastipur College, Samastipur. In later stage big donor was G.D. Birla who through Ex Governor of MP, Sri Satyanarayan Sinha and an eminent English Scholar of this area and Managing Director of Birla Sirpur Paper Mill, Kagaznagar (AP), Late Chhathoo Prasad.
Affiliated to first Patna University in 1949 for Intermediate. On establishment of Bihar University the college had been affiliated to this university in 1953 onwards for Intermediate (Arts and Science) as well as for Bachelor (Arts and Science) courses. Further on establishment of L.N. Mithila University the college had been affiliated to this university in 1972 onwards for Intermediate, Bachelor and Master courses. The College became a Constituent unit of L.N. Mithila University in 1976. The College is recognized by UGC under its section 2(f) & 12(B) in Nov 1976.
